Metra-Something Different
Author: kevink

On Tuesday 1/7/25,I found Metra SW1500 #9 pulling F40PH #179 into Chicago Union Station at Clinton Street. #9 looks like it could use some maintenance or at least a good bath.

Judging from the amount of oily exhaust smooge on the number boards and running off the top of the hood it appears that this engine has a lot of oil in it's exhaust.
Time for a little TLC for that 12-645.

Maybe way too much time in idle, i.e. not much load time.

I'd still be checking it's oil consumption to see if it's just sipping or guzzling!
