Thanks so much for publishing these! 33000's are the SSL's, did you mean 31021 for the coach-baggage? And yes 32505 is a "deluxe sleeper" with all bedrooms upstairs and runs exclusively on the AutoTrain, in fact each trainset usually has two of these and 6 were built. Have a great weekend! Date: 02/01/25 15:38 Re: Beech Grove Releases 2/1/25 Author: jp1822 Two best things that Amtrak did when putting in the Superliner II order -
1) Procuring the Superliner Trans/Dorm sleepers for onboard staff and revenue space. At first though, these cars (and the staff) were not open to revenue passengers. Gunn was behind opening them up to revenue space and for onboard crews. Prior to his tenure, they'd only have staff in those cars - Amtrak employees that were travelling on business. 2) Procuring the Deluxe Superliner Sleepers. These are high end producing revenue cars. Good to see that all six Superliner Deluxe Sleepers are still in operation, as two had been accidents in the early 2000's, but they did finally get back to service during Gunn's tenure. I wish Amtrak would press all six into service during peak season, just like VIA presses all their sleepers and Prestige Class sleeper into service during peak season - after working on them and repairing/maintaining them in an off-peak refresh blitz.......In summer peak season (when the Auto Train is in off-peak) I wish Amtrak would put them on the CA Zephyr as the third revenue sleeper. I been wondering what had happen to these cars. Jerry Martin Los Angeles, CA Central Coast Railroad Festival Date: 02/02/25 18:11 Re: Beech Grove Releases 2/1/25 Author: G600DRVR GP25 Wrote:
