Passenger Trains > Railfanning New Hyde Park, Merillon Ave, and Mineola Stations

Yesterday, I decided to take a railfanning trip to photograph Long Island Railroad action at New Hyde Park, Merillon Avenue, and Mineola Stations, all on the busiest portion of the Main Line that just got triple tracked. I was out for a lot of the day. I start my day off at the New Hyde Park Station. Since the 3rd track opened, this was my very first time at the revamped New Hyde Park station. It looks nice, but unfortunately there is a lack of shelters. Plus there is no pedestrian access at the west end of the station. You can only access the other platform at the east end of the station. At NHP, you can get a nice view of the Main Line with a water tower in the background.
