Chiefs held for fire

3 left raton then backed  back, due to fire on the row, big dealy , track was inspected,  no word about wind delays

trains got greens to proceed after with an 8 hour delay for 3  6hours for 4

Out in the flats near Wagon-mound… Winter never came to New Mexico so everything is tinder dry

Not quite true, came in early November (Nov 6-7) and left a couple of feet at Las Vegas; Amtrak cancelled/truncated #3 and #4 for those days. But that was it, it's been very dry, especially in east and SE NM.

The Eagle dosen't need a fire -- No.22 is currently 12+ hours late.  Cew ran out of time.

In general, here is Amtrak's explanation of the Eagle's delays

3 Hours --due to severe weather in Texas
5 Hours--clearing fallen trees from tracks at  Poplar Bluff, Mo.
12 Hours-crew ran out of time at Arcadia, Mo.

Arrived Chicago 12 Hours, 14 minutes Late

(BTW:  the Chief, No.3., shows as 7+ hours late today --- Mandatory crew rest).

Poplar Bluff got hit hard with an EF-3 tornado, at least one death reported.
