Passenger Trains > New Pacific Surfliner Schedules.Date: 03/18/25 15:34 New Pacific Surfliner Schedules. Author: SanDiegan New Pacific Surfliner schedule, effective 3-31-25 is now online at their website. There is one additional round trip, departing L.A. at 8:10 am and returning from San Diego at 1:01 pm. Increase from 10 to 11 round trips daily.
$27 million grant from Biden Administration was to pay for two more round trips in March and an additional round trip in November. Not sure what happened to the promised second round trip ? Author: pdt We were supposed to get a 3rd RT to SLO, and a new maintenance facility up here, as part of the CTC project from goleta to SLO. So far zip, nada, zilch, zero, not a thing. Not even another stupid study.

According to the most recent LOSSAN board meeting agenda packet, phase 1 of the SLO Central Coast layover and maintenance facility expansion is funded and scheduled to be completed June 2027: https://lossan.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=PA&ID=1284473&GUID=19E979BA-9D87-4D7D-AC85-467DED49E5BA Date: 03/19/25 08:47 Re: New Pacific Surfliner Schedules. Author: Jonny_Chi Outside the NEC California has by far the best train service in the country. Who would have thought that 50 years ago.

It's the same as saying something nice about Amtrak or VIA. Date: 03/20/25 05:52 Re: New Pacific Surfliner Schedules. Author: atsf121 PHall Wrote:

The Amtrak California services really have done well, especially since the early 90’s when the bond measures passed to fund the new equipment. I think another thing that helps make the train service work so well is the integrated buses. I don’t know if I would have used the Capital Corridor as much without the bus from Emeryville to downtown San Francisco. I could take BART to Richmond (and I did a few times), but that was more expensive. So having a single ticket that covers the train and bus makes for a set of services with broad reach way beyond the train tracks. Nathan |
