Belated Rocky Mountaineer Post
Author: Paniolo_man

Two weekends ago I drove down to Eastern Utah to get a few photos/videos of Rocky Mountaineer returning from their SLC test train. Other than a handful of other railfans that liked taking their videos from uncomforatably close to the tracks, the desert was quiet and peaceful.

Much to my surprise, I was invited on for a brief tour at the Seven Mile siding outside Moab. I was also given a Rocky Mountaineer bag with various merchandise in it.

Here are a couple of the videos I took, and a picture of yours truly taken at the Seven Mile terminus of the route.

They need to put that gold herald on the nose of the GeePs.  Would make them no only more photogenic, but easier to see coming at ya.

That first photo could be offered to ownership as a perfect promo shot, or, a monthly shot for the (hopefully) calendar.

Why does Rocky Mountaineer use Freight Locomotives with a power car instead of Purchasing Passenger Locomotives with HEP. There should be plenty of P42s that are surplus and could be rebuilt. CDOT Did it. Look at What Metra did with the SD70 Macs.
