Hockey travel by rail

The Chicago Blackhawks are playing at the Montreal Canadiens tonight. Tomorrow- the Hawks finish the season at Ottawa vs the Senators. It was announced during the game tonight that the Hawks will travel to Ottawa via train.

I can't imagine where Amtrak would get the equipment for this right now.  It seems like VIA would be in a better position, given all the recent Venture arrivals, even with all the problems they've apparently been having.  That's assuming a day train, I guess.

Amtrak even has a car dedicated to this, specifically #9800

Amtrak does this weekly, if not multiple times weekly on the NEC. Hockey, baseball and basketball teams all use the NEC to bounce between Boston, NYC, Philly, Baltimore and DC when their schedules have them playing in those cities back-to-back.

Is Amtrak able to do this with just the regular trains or do they have to add cars?
