You'd almost think the state was run by folks from Detroit: https://www.texasrailadvocates.org/post/texas-republicans-take-aim-at-public-transit-in-two-major-cities BTW, they don't want to spend $2.5 million to support the HF while the state's so-called Rainy Day Fund (money sitting around doing nothing for Texans) will top out this year around $17 billion. As a Texan, its quite laughable... JG Edited 4 time(s). Last edit at 04/15/25 09:34 by jgilmore. So much for the idea that a good lower-speed rail can serve sufficiently well, and sometimes act as a precursor to higher speed service. At least apparently for the Texas legislature.

Don't know which is worse now, highway lobby or bullet train lobby. TAW Date: 04/15/25 11:55 Re: Heartland Flyer to (possibly) stop running in June Author: longliveSP dan Wrote:

Or, maybe you failed to read the other thread and the associated link in which it is PRIVATE INVESTORS that are going forward with Texas HSR. I haven't kept up on Texas, but here, the private investors and tech/development companies want HSR so they can use it and make money from it . . . and want the public top build it for them.
