RAILROAD ROLLING STOCK AVAILABLE FOR SALE


The Great Western Railroad Museum has the following pieces of rolling stock available for immediate sale. Each piece of equipment is described below. It will be sold FOB at the location listed below.

This equipment is sold on a first come, first serve basis. Parties who are interested are encouraged to contact the representative selling this equipment for the museum, Martin E. Hansen, at the address listed below. Interested parties should make cash offers to purchase the equipment. Anyone interested is encouraged to inspect the equipment. Each buyer will be responsible for their own movement of the equipment from its present location.

1. BN 976176 - former CB & Q Baggage Car. This is a 75-foot car with six wheel, friction-bearing trucks. Car location is McCloud, California. Sale is FOB McCloud.

2. Union Pacific Coach #578. This is a heavy-weight. The coach has six wheel, roller-bearing trucks. Car is sold FOB McCloud, California.

3. Southern Pacific Harriman Coach #1803. This is a short Harriman coach on four wheel, friction-bearing trucks. Car is sold FOB McCloud, California.

4. Great Northern Water Car X-1990. This is a former steam locomotive tender, converted into a water car. This was built for a coal fired locomotive of the same class Great Northern - #1246. The tender has four wheel, equalized trucks on friction bearings. Car is sold FOB McCloud, California.

5. SP&S Baggage Car #46. This is a heavy-weight baggage car on six wheel, friction-bearing trucks. Car is sold FOB McCloud, California.

6. Great Northern Baggage Car #3396. This car rests on six wheel, roller-bearing trucks. Body has some rust, but is restorable. Car is sold FOB McCloud, California.

7. Burlington Northern Coach #968054. This car is on six wheel, friction-bearing trucks. Car is sold FOB McCloud, California.

8. Pickering Lumber Company Tank Car. This was a former fuel oil car for the Pickering Lumber Company out of Standard, California. It rests on arch bar trucks and was built in approximately 1916. This is a 35-foot car and holds between six and eight thousand gallons of fuel. Car is sold FOB McCloud, California.

9. Ex-Western Pacific Flat Car. This is a 40-foot flat car formerly used as an open passenger car on the McCloud Railroad. The car has friction-bearing trucks. Car is sold FOB McCloud, California.

10. Ex-McCloud River Railroad Burrow Crane. This is a 15 ton burrow crane model 15. Burrow crane is sold FOB McCloud, California.

11. Ex-McCloud River Railroad Brownhoist Crane. This was a 40 ton crane that was originally steam powered and later converted to diesel power. This crane is sold FOB McCloud, California.

12. Burlington Northern Coach #968060. This is a 65-foot steel sheathed wooden coach. The coach has four wheel trucks with friction bearings. The car was converted to a sleeper for work train service. Car is sold FOB Klamath Falls, Oregon.

13. Burlington Northern Heavy-Weight Sleeper Coach. This is an 80-foot coach on six wheel roller-bearing trucks. Car is sold FOB Klamath Falls, Oregon.

14. 1914 Russell Wooden Snowplow. This is a former McCloud River Railroad wooden snowplow. Plow is sold FOB McCloud, California.

15. Harriman Coach #1. This is a standard semi-eight-foot Harriman coach resting on friction-bearing trucks. This car is in good shape and is in active use with full seating in the coach. This car is sold FOB Yreka, California.

16. Harriman Coach #2. This is a standard semi-eight-foot Harriman Coach resting on friction-bearing trucks. This car is in good shape and is in active use with full seating in the coach. This car is sold FOB Yreka, California.

17. Harriman Coach #3. This is a standard 78-foot Harriman Coach. This coach has not been in service recently. It has seating in it and sits on friction bearings. This car is sold FOB Yreka, California.

18. Fifty-Foot Open Passenger Car. This is a flat car converted to an open passenger seating car. It is a steel frame flat car resting on roller-bearing trucks. These trucks are former friction-bearing trucks converted to roller-bearing. This car is sold FOB Yreka, California.

19. Southern Pacific Steam Wrecking Crane. This is a 120 ton Brownhoist steam wrecking crane in excellent condition. It was last used in the early 1980s by Southern Pacific. It rests on roller bearings. This car is sold FOB Klamath Falls, Oregon.

20. Southern Pacific Wrecking Crane Idler Car. This is a flat car/idler car on roller-bearing trucks used with the wrecking crane mentioned above. This car is sold FOB Klamath Falls, Oregon.

21. Southern Pacific Baggage Car #1. This is a 75-foot Southern Pacific baggage car used as part of the wrecking crane train. It was used as a crew car for the wrecking crane crew. It sits on six wheel trucks with friction bearings.

22. Southern Pacific Baggage Car #2. This car was also used in wrecking car service. This is a 75-foot car used as a rigging car. It sits on six wheel friction-bearing trucks. Car is sold FOB Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Interesting set of equipment, sorry to hear it is being dispersed.

Who put the equipment together?
Is any of it in regular usage? Has it ever been?
What other equipment does the museum have, and is it open to the public?
