This is the Chicago-St. Louis route, which has seen high-speed test runs within the last year or so. IIRC, I think the tests were well south of this location, like around Normal. I don't know what the status of the line is at this time, but UP crews were upgrading many of the grade crossings last time I was out there. Godley is about 10 miles north of Dwight, and about 50-60 miles southwest of Chicago. |
