Passenger Trains > Bad day in LADate: 06/10/05 12:49 Bad day in LA Author: scannergeek Yesterday's Coast Starlight arrived at 12:40 PM today, and the westbound Sunset has probably just now crossed into California. Even today's Southwest Chief arrived 3 hours and 14 minutes late.
Apparently they are going to use the Starlight's equipment that arrived today (yesterday's train) as today's #14, so that train could not leave until the southbound train arrived and was cleaned. Date: 06/10/05 13:00 Re: Bad day in LA Author: jp1822 They should have anulled today's #14 to allow catch-up. Northbound #14 will already be 5 hours late out of LA, why bother, as it is just going to get into Seattle at some ridiculous hour and produce more of a snowball affect. Allow things to catch up - as much as possible in terms of terminal departures.

More like 8 hours, as it now has an estimate of 6:30 -- yeah right, like they will let #14 leave during the Metrolink rush hours. Probably more like 8:00 pm. Date: 06/10/05 13:55 Re: Bad day in LA Author: Hi_ball_14 rms492 Wrote:

Date: 06/10/05 21:16 Silver Lining? Author: railstiesballast How about a daytime trip up the Sacramento Valley and Canyon on this late No. 14?
Date: 06/10/05 21:25 Re: Silver Lining? Ride Shasta Daylight Saturday Author: mundo Train 14 the Starlight will assume schedule of the Shasta Daylight from Oakland to Portland.
