“Go west young man” was the theme today. I was up in South Plainfield (NJ) this morning along Conrail Shared Assets Lehigh from 7:20 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. and here’s what I saw. I saw three trains during that period and all were westbound moves.

1. 8:00 WB NS 21M 9918, 9409 & 9420
2. 8:22 WB CSX mixed 5420 & 7334 (in Conrail paint) – it was Q417
3. 9:22 WB NS 951 4270, 4276 & 4271

I was hoping there would be an eastbound train or two waiting at Bound Brook for the NS OCS train, but that was not the case.
