Australian Iron Ore railroads-Trackage rights
Author: DKay

In a court case decision down here in Australia this past week,BHP were directed to allow the other Iron Ore railroads(Hamersley,Robe ??)to operate over a portion of their system.
This will allow the development of another mining area ,which would have required the construction of another 100 miles or so of railroad, had the trackage rights issue failed.
Will be interesting to see how the increase in traffic works out.
Regards,Daryl kay.

At least they (BHP) only have to deal with one other railroad, as Hammersley Iron and Robe River have merged to become Pilbara Rail.

For now they only have to deal with Pilbara Rail. You may see Fortescue Rail running on the line in a few years, and perhaps others.

DKay,
Slight correction/perceived outcome I suggest to your thread!

The Australian Consumer and Competition Council (ACCC) in a "draft ruling".

I suggest BHP-Billiton are about to "fight" this ruling although I accept that the ACCC don't loose too many "draft rulings".
