Identify Locomotives

Here is a photo of a locomotive, taken in 1992.

Can anyone identify these?

The Class E656 was used on heavy passenger trains, The Class E655, same locomotive different gearing is used on freight, both are common in Milan and elsewhere in Northern Italy. The first four characters of the road number are the Class of the locomotive. The following three are the serial portion. E = Electric Locomotives, D = Diesel etc.

Edit - The E656 (Cayman) was built for fast passenger work over mountain lines 4200kW (5630hp)
150 kph max speed. Built by various Italian builders between 1975 and 1989. They have lost most of their heavy passenger work to Class E652 and are being converted to Class E655 for freight service, but are seen as replacements on secondary passenger services.
