New bridge crossing to MX on the horizon

The current rail crossing in Brownsville, TX over the Rio Grande River to Mexico is due to be re-routed.
By doing so, the cities of Brownsville and Matamoros will lose trains in their downtown
areas. Or course, TXDOT wants to replace the UP right of way with a new highway around
Brownsville==a toll road, no less. Kinda dopey IMO. It should be kept for potential commuter rail, since
the area is growing quickly, and is projected to continue to do so.
