Servicing Bolivian Steam in 1967
Author: photobob

Here's a shot I took at La Paz Bolivia in 1967. It was a great time to be rail fanning in Bolivia.

Another timeless picture Robert. Is that one of the Vulcan Foundry 4-8-2s in the background?

Wow, now that I'm chasing FCAB on a regular basis, it's fantastic for me to see their steam operations, in color no less. Wish I could've been down here in 1967 but back then I had to save up to get to the Kansas City WGRF.

Great photos. As to surviving steam, very few FCAB steam locomotives have survived. Bolivian steam is dumped all over the system, mostly in Uyuni, Bolivia. Check out Surviving Working World Steam website for more info on surviving steam locomotives.
