More trolley busses for Valparaiso, Chile
Author: PERichardson

Valparaiso, home of the world's oldest (one dating from 1948) operating trolley busses, is taking delivery of ten rebuilt/upgraded trolley busses from Lucerne, Switzerland. Built in 1989 by Mercedes Benz, they have been upgraded to the latest high-tech standards. They also have a couple of new Chinese busses. Presumably most of the old fleet will continue to operate as they are expanding the system.

1948 doesn't seem to be that old. Is that the correct date?

Yes, and 66 years seems pretty old to me for a trolley bus or most any other conveyance to be in daily service.
