Date: 04/11/14 12:32 Re: Fire in the Sky Author: truxtrax One would assume that after years of steam like this,
there's little left to catch on fire trackside! Great film to watch and hear. Larry Dodgion Wilsonville, OR Date: 04/12/14 01:53 Re: Fire in the Sky Author: JasonCNW How and why would this happen? Never seen this before.
JC Date: 04/12/14 11:07 Re: Fire in the Sky Author: wag216 I saw this on the UP 328 (2-8-0) many times at North Topeka, while switching the freight house lead just about sundown. (about 1945 - 1954). WAG216.
Date: 04/17/14 18:49 Re: Fire in the Sky Author: funnelfan Wow!!!! I never even bother to think what a coal fired steam locomotive working hard would look like at night, now I know. Now I need a time machine so I can go visit Sherman Hill in the late 40's and stay all night. ;^D

Anything close to that stretch of track that could burn probably has already burned down. |
