BNSF SD39 No, 1918 to Bolivia
Author: PERichardson

BNSF SD39 1918 which I assumed was for Fepasa, has been rebuilt by Casagrande Motori here in Santiago and sent to Bolivia. It's now orange/black FO 2201, a G&W operation. Link below

Long trip, apparently crossed into Argentina via the Paso de Jama over the weekend

This road reaches an altitude of 4,810 m (15,780 ft) 100 km west of the border (crossing at 4320 meters)

No tunnels, wide graveled shoulders, road rebuilt and surfaced in the early '90's, so some arrestor beds

Since 2009 at least five locos have transited the pass
Tran a las Nubes 0001 in 2009 (Mexican GT22CU-3 meter gauge rebuild of ex NW GP35 core)west-east
2011 and 2012 Casagrande meter gauge C23-7 (rebuilt from B23-7) for Ferroviaria Oriental west-east
2013 ex Tren a las Nubes TT01 Argentina built GT22CU (became FCAB 2501)east-west
