putting out RofW fire in France.
Author: TonyJ

This morning I recieved an e-mail and photo from my friend "SP Fred" in France. Fred works for SNCF and he showed me all around when we visited France in 2001.

Apparently they are experiencing hot weather like us in Oregon. (It's supposed to be 108F today and tomorrow here in Medford.) Below is his short note and photo.

Dear Tony, Dear Joe,
Here is something you don’t see very often.
Last week, because of a problem of brake shoe, a freight train created about 30 small fire spots in the south of France. The only solution was to spray tons of water along the tracks from several Canadair airplanes.

The attached photo is pretty impressiveJ

I hope you both are doing well.
Very hot temperature in France today… unbearable !!!!
