South African industrial steam -- St Helena Gold Mine

St Helena Gold Mine in Welkom was quite unusual in that all line haul was handled solely by eight former SAR class CR 4-6-2s!   Normally three were in use and all in a tender-first configuration.   This ended in February 1998 when South African Rys took over operations.
