Another Downunder Video from South Australia
Author: AussieGWAdriver

Hi all,

As promised, some video of rail action from South Australia filmed in September and October last year. In the video we have..

The Overland passenger train hauled by a Pacific National NR.

A loaded Genesee & Wyoming grain train climbing the 2.2% grades hauled by a GWA, CLP, CLP, FQ combo (SD70ACe, SD40-3, SD40-3, SD70 equivilant combo).

A Pacific National intermodal freight climbing the Adelaide Hills with a NR, AN, DL combo (C40-9, SD60, SD59).

Last an Aurizon intermodal train climbing the 2.2% grade into Mt. Lofty in foggy conditions with a LDP, X, X combo or in US terms a SD70ACe, SD38AC, SD38AC!

Cheers,
Justin

Justin...enjoyed this video immensely!  Love the 2nd scene at Petwood - nice how they planted the bushes on the hillside to spell out the town's name.  Keep 'em coming from down under!

There is three Ghan painted NR's - 74, 75 and 109. There is also two Southern Spirit - 84 & 85 plus four Indian Pacific - NR18 in the one off yellow version and 25, 27, 28 in the modified PN livery.

Justin

a few years ago i had a coiled western diamondback rattlesnake on my front porch that i walked past.  he never made a sound and did NOT bite me.  my guardian angel saved me again.

i really enjoy your videos and pictures.  be safe out there...........

Great Video. Make me wish the Navy had let me see New Zealand and Australia in 1970. We had them for our next two ports of call
and someone at Whidbey Island decided we needed to be there. The XO of our squadron called me in about a month later and asked
me why there were so many decamineary problems with my Det. My response was "how would you feel if you had two great ports of call
coming up, and were flown back to Whidbey Island in November". He dismiss me with no further questions....

Re: The Mount Lofty segment -
The mist, lighting, colors and wayside geology combined to accentuate a nifty runby.
Thanx!
