Aussie Bulldog Video - 2002
Author: AussieGWAdriver

Hi all,

Some older video footage og Genesee & Wyoming bulldogs in action back in 2002.

CLP16 leads bricks ALF22 and ALF18 then three hauled A16C bulldogs in the form of GM38, GM37, GM40 still in their Australian National livery.

The train, Toll service 7AP4 was taken over by Pacific National not long after in 2002 with the formation of the company.

The footage was on VHS then placed onto DVD.

Enjoy
Justin

At your second scene "Tent Hill", what's up with the false clear signal?
Awesome shots, keep'em coming!

Enjoyed hearing the classic EMD sound. Suggestion!!!  On each shot you start tight and then bounce around as you zoom out which is sort of annoying. My suggestion is to just shoot it wide and pan the train as it goes by. Thanks, my 2 cents worth.

Thanks. The signal is not actually a signal but a point indicator to say both ends of the crossing loop are set and locked for the mainline. At that point in time it was dark territory with train orders. Now it is CTC.

Cheers,

Thanks everyone, as for the way I had zoomed out, this was in my early days of videoing and I gave that up a long ago and just do a wide angle or 3/4 shot where I can.

Cheers,
Justin

Thanks for sharing..  question  what is the passenger car for behind the consist?  does the train operate with more than one crew?  one crew is working and the other is resting ?

Excellent video I very much enjoyed watching, thanks for posting.

I'm guessing the passenger car is for a second crew; one works the other rests to avoid crew changes in
the middle of nowhere.

The cars were interesting.  They look to be conventional flat cars modified to haul containers.  They certainly
are not what we're used to seeing in the states.

My question is:  What's a "Toll" train?  Would like to learn that.

Thanks again for posting.
