Australia - QUBE Logistics service at Concord West
Author: Stephenloco

A southbound QUBE Logistics service slowly grinds through Concord West station on Sydney's Northern Line, en-route to Port Botany. The train is slowing to a stop before entering the North Strathfield Rail Underpass (NSRU) & the single line section travelling west between North Strathfield junction & Flemington.

At Concord West it is quadruple track, with L-R, "down relief", "down main", "up main" & the NSRU line, which the train is on. There is no link back onto the up main from this line, so it cannot be used for (passenger) trains towards Sydney Central.  Down lines - travel away from Sydney, Up lines - travel towards Sydney.

An interesting collection of locos lead the train, being; CM 3306, VL 355, CM 3311 & #1102. The first 3 locos are owned by Chicago Freight Car Leasing Australia, with the last owned by QUBE.

I believe  the lower ones we the original standard ISO container - 20ft long (or 40ft) & 8ft6in high.  To increase volume there is now a larger version for international shipping containers which is 9ft6in high.
