FTL will use these units on working trains in the three constructions front. The company also got four SD40-2 from MRS and fours second hand SD40-2 in USA market, that arrived here with BNSF livery. Other two ex MRS SD38M will join the SD18´s in the long jorney of 1846 km by truck to their final destination.

Thanks for the nice photos and the info on the new railroad.  Any idea on the heritage of these units?

They were made to Brazilian EFCB rwy in by EMD USA in 1961. Later they changed to RFFSA in the 1970's and then to MRS in 1996 . Now were sold to FTL.

I just want to remark that in the domain of science fiction (e.g., Battlestar Galactica), "FTL" stands for "faster than light."  Are these trains fast?
