The main "race" was between Redfern (1st stop after (Sydney) Central & Clyde on the main Western Line, which is 6 tracks to Strathfield then 4 to Clyde, grouped in pairs. The two steam locomotive involved were: 3016 - Built in 1903 by the Beyer, Peacock & Company, Manchester, UK (originally built as a Tank loco) 3642 - Built in 1926 by Clyde Engineering, Sydney - so a "local" A great video of the race is available on YouTube with video taken from both trains - Add a "H" to this link : ttps://youtu.be/6WCS6tvHjhA The actual race starts about 2 minutes in.
