Panama City (Panama, not Florida) metro
Author: utwazoo

It's 9.8 miles long and opened on 4/6/14. It uses overhead catenary and is almost entirely elevated. This is the first of two planned lines. The second line will connect downtown to the international airport.

Thanks for posting. That's quite a building in the background.

The building is the F&F Bank tower. Yet again, TO won't accept a vertical image.

Why can't we have architecture like other countries in the U.S.?

Everything has to look like "Stalinist Revival".

Looks like a type of Alstom Metropolis unit, a family of rapid transit cars found all over the world.

The "overhead catenary" looks more like overhead third rail.

Yes, that IS an amazing-looking building! I kinda like ti.
And -- electric trains in Panama City? wow..... Didn't
know about these. Only knew about the diesel-pulled tourist
train that includes the former SP 3/4 dome.

Yeah, some cities in other countries have some really interesting
buildings. Here?> plain-Jane or "brutalist", all of which definitely
got hit with a very large "ugly stick",.

Good for Panama City for building something different and interesting --
and great that the architects designed something unique and nice-looking.
