International Railroad Discussion > Helsinki to Vladivostok-Part 40Date: 02/09/18 11:16 Helsinki to Vladivostok-Part 40 Author: CNStratford If you look on a map you will see that Vladivostok is on a sort of a "land" peninsula with China on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Khabarovsk is where the Trans-Siberian line turns south towards Vladivostok.
Picture 1 - The impressive station building in Khabarovsk. Picture 2 - Passengers getting off the train. Picture 3 - A well-dressed young woman takes a picture of a train official signalling that all is well to leave. Like your station photos. They certainly did not try to save money building them. The railroad generally appears to be well maintained. The people appear to look reasonably prosperous, that wouldn't have been the case thirty years ago. Thanks for continuing to post your photos. I'd be interested in know how it would be, in general, getting around using a walker or a wheelchair. What about on board? In the stations? |
