Helsinki to Vladivostok-Part 48
Author: CNStratford

Almost time to leave Vladivostok. Back we went to the railroad station.
Picture 1 - This map in English in the Cruise Ship Terminal shows the area around the railroad station.
Picture 2 - On the previous map, you can almost read "Military Vessels". Until I saw the map I was afraid to take a picture of the harbour for fear of being arrested for espionage. Anyhow, in the fog, just behind the crane you can see a line up of naval vessels.
Picture 3 - As readers are aware, North Korea has provided a lot of international tension this year. It was a surprise to me to find out that while we were in Vladivostok we only about 140 km (80 miles) from a city in North Korea.

Thanks for #48 in the series.
An interesting photo and information.
In 1989 ad 1991, I made business trips to Seoul, South Korea.
During my 1991 visit, I managed to get on a USO tour to Panmunjom
which is about 33 Miles (53 Kilometers) north of Seoul. As part
of the tour, we were allowed to enter through the south entrance
the blue building where the two sides hold meetings. Very interesting.
Thanks for all your work in putting together this series.
