International Railroad Discussion > VLI red face (Brazil)Date: 06/01/18 16:31 VLI red face (Brazil) Author: pedrop Hi, today I found the rare VLI BB40-9W 6040 "red face" here in town. It arrived on train W776 and was switched to the siding tracks to form train C656 at night. VLI received a a special award in 2015 as one of the best companies in Brazil, so i
the company applyed these red decals on the face of some locomotives to celebrate the award received. In the following year, 2016, VLI received the same award again, and put a blue decal in the face of other locomotives. The callenger of the railfans here is to find bolth the red and blue units together. 1) The dash 9´s are going backwards from track 2 to 3 to wait to form train C656 at night. In the background we see Gm G8 4049 and U20C´s 2555 and 2523. I have seen bolth, but not together. If we look carefully it is orange, but people say "Red Face". It is the same orange of the strip on the side of the locomotives. The blue comes from the blue writing that form the VLI logotype.
