I know it was damaged by a hurricane some years ago.

The 3 NF210 were sold to FCAB, together with the 4 SW1200M FCAB were also rumoured to have purchased a number of wagons FCAB is believed to have resold the 3 NF210 plus 2 of the SW1200M to South Africa Locos painted an allover dark blue with black frames, and moved to the Port area last Sunday Photos of repainted locos are circulating on Facebook Date: 06/27/19 06:37 Re: Question on SQM railroad in Chile Author: utwazoo Also both salitres shut down. Pedro Valdivia in 2015 and Maria Elena within the past year. An end to an important part of Atacama Desert history. As mentioned above, the railroad shut down totally in late 2015 and is slowly being removed.

My grandfather worked at Maria Elena, this is what the town looked like 20 years ago.  |
