ABPF did not decide which paint it will receive after restauration. Some people say it will use abpf color, but other can imagine to use the original HI painting.

Thankyou for the photo.I got a tour of those locos when they were new. There were also some Robe River ones there as well(Black with a red swan on the long hood ).I recall the guy giving us the tour telling us about the AirCon system. It was designed to operate just a few degrees below the outside temp,so as crews stepping off the locos wouldnt collapse in the brutal summer temps up there in the north west.I also seem to recall that they went to West Australia by rail ,but mounted on regular freight car trucks,so as to comply with height clearances.I guess they then went by ship to the Iron Ore companies  from Perth / Freemantle.Maybe they didnt go by ship...

Here are a couple of Robe River shots with the red on the side.  Not a swan, though.  Mt Newman Mining had C636s that were orange with white trim and a black swan on both the nose and the long hood.  Could these have been what you saw?   Photo of one in following post.

Hi, the preservation group here is looking for photos or data of the builder's plate of unit 5057 to rebuilt the plate to add on it. Do you think is it possible to find such informations or picture?

Thanks for these data. Any chance to have a photo of a similar Goninan-GE plate to be used as a guide to build a new one for 5057? Any data of the dimensions of it?

Thanks for the aditional photos. It's been a long time ago,I am probably wrong about the paint job.We were told not to take our cameras onto the property, but they were most willing to show us the locomotives. At the time, they were also building new double deck commuter cars for the Sydney rail system, that may have been the reason for no cameras.
Edit....Think there were additional locos that came to Australia that had B&O  -> then BN heritage.Corrections welcome.
