Pacific Electric in Buenos Aires
Author: masterphots

A number of Pacific Electric cars were sold to Argentina,  including all 30 PCC cars,  some Hollywood cars plus freight motors.  Most of the Key System bridge units also went south.  Here are photos of three former PE units, all taken on 10/19/91 at the Lynch shops/museum oin Buenos Aires.  The line car was in service, the other two were in the museum collection.  All are presumably still there.

1.  908 which may be the former 2nd 954.  This was rebuilt from 1st 954 which was PE 1599, built at S. Torrance shops 1923.  Any additional info about this motor would be appreciated.

2.  950, former PE 1590.

3.  Line car 3758,  former PE 758.

The site "Surviving Equipment of Pacific Electric Railway" shows car 1100 as surviving in Buenos Aires.  I have no idea as to the date of that information.  Do you know if an 1100 survives down there?  Thanks.

It's probably at the Lynch museum carbarn.  I've never seen it and haven't gone over there in years.
