Australia visit -- 33 years ago

A buddy and I flew to Australia in late November 1987 to spent two weeks primarily riding what existed then of the intercity passenger system. We rode the Melbourne Express, Overland, Indian Pacific, and Sunlander, among other trains. This weekend I scanned a small set of slides from that adventure and would like to share a few of the more notable ones. 

In this post are a trio of action shots near Coal Cliff (about 50 miles south of Sydney) on the Illawarra line . I have to say that I'm really fond of the first shot with the Pacific Oean in the background:-)

Very nice.I didnt know the Intercities went down the south coast.Thought they only went to newcastle ,and Lithgow.
