Rockslide/Washout on the Chile Transandine
Author: masterphots

I thought I'd post a couple of the photos at the same spot where my earlier post showed the damage to the line.

1.  Alco 1812W exiting the tunnel where the slide occurred.  7/18/17   The sealed containers replaced the old tubs that carry copper concentrate.

2.  GE U13C 1820W about to enter the north end of said tunnel.  12/18/16  This view corresponds to the last photo in my earlier post.  Also shows the old tub containers.

Fantastic photos. Number two is very nice and looks like a model railroad of my dreams.

If you model it you need to have a fan that nearly blows you off the floor so you have the true experience up there.

Yes, a big scenery needs a high view.
BTW, are there model railroad club layouts in Chile? I've neve seen a layout showing the railroads in Chile.

I've never seen or heard of any.  We don't really have a model railroad shop either,   far as I know.   Most modeling here is military stuff as well as RC model airplanes.

Oh, it's a pity.
I sounds a nice opportunity to open a model railroad store in a big city like Santiago.
