International Railroad Discussion > Manchuria 1985Date: 06/21/21 10:26 Manchuria 1985 Author: bobwilcox In 1985 I made a trek from San Francisco to Manchuria via London, Moscow, and Irkutsk. In Irkutsk, USSR, we caught a train for Qiqihar, China. The purpose of the trip was to witness steam railroading without diesel locomotives. During two weeks, I saw one diesel-powered train. I took these shots in and around Shenshu, Heilongjiang, China.
