Some Australian Steam (Australia)
Author: Australian

Hi All,

I've attached several photos of Steam Locomotive Rx224 as it was laying over during a Night Time Passenger Excursion

The Rx Class (4-6-0 'Ten Wheeler') were a mixed traffic locomotive used throughout the South Australian Railways System. Being Displaced by Big Power introduced by commissioner WA Webb ( A former MKT General Operations Manager) the Rx Class hung on until the end of Steam mainly used on branch Lines

Enjoy,
Australian

It's a beauty. Thanks for including the view, from the Footplate.
I really like the Red Stripes on the Locomotive. I admit to knowing next to nothing about
the Austrailan Railways. This Post surely helped.

The X was a symbol to Designate the destination

Designation Boards were used to show Signalmen what routing to give a train out of Adelaide with various symbols used to signify different areas (see attachment)
