Thanks for sharing these. Your night shots are particularly fun to see. I like the stars in that ever-so-dark sky.

I am curious about the train stall. Would it not be expedient to double the train to the next siding/passing loop? Or is there just not much other train activity going on to justify that? Quite a ways to operate an assist movement.

Next lot.

1 & 2. Having been recently donated by One Rail Australia to the Steamranger Heritage Railway, Goodwin-ALCo built, DL531, 844 makes its way down the South Eastern Freeway near Mt. Barker not far from its destination. This broad gauge 830 class is the second of the class donated to Steamranger having received 845 from Pacific National a few years earlier.

3. 844 has arrived at Steamrangers depot in Mt. Barker and will soon be lifted off the truck. 1949 built shunt locomotive, 350 waits nearby to move 844's temporary bogies into place.

Now onto the next set.

Thanks everyone.

The train stalled due to a locomotive failure. Doubling the hill was not really possible due to crossing loops being occupied by other trains and other operators refusing to assist in giving it a push. It eventually sat there until rescue power arrived after a delay of over 12 hours!

Cheers,
Justin
