Hi, the Summer rains arrived in the Southeast  producing many damages in my state, specially in the cities near here. We had derailments and lines closed in Rumo, VLI, MRS and Vale systems. The weather forescast says it will be rainning for at least another week.  It's too much for the rivers. Some cities and towns are flooded now.

1) Vale narrow gauge EFVM railroad is closed due to some mud slides. The pasdanger train P02 stopped at João Monlevade City and the passe geralmente will be transfered to buses;
2 - 3) Rumo broad gauge line to Santos port is close  since a mud slides derailed a grain train in the Mar hill.

Wow Pedro, you sure have been hit with extra heavy rains. Lots of rain damage to your many rail lines. With another week of rain, look out for a lot more damage. I thought we had it bad with all our snow with all the passes closed. Hang in there Pedro, hope your weather improves quickly.

Great coverage Pedro - what a mess!!  

Unusual looking partial cement ties.  Are they all that way or do many have solid concrete?

They were common in some locations in the 1970s and 80s. Most of the tracks are made of wood or solid concrete in that area nowadays. Vale narrow gauge is all teel ties. MRS is changing wood by steel.
