Fortesque Metals Group new AC44CMi's

Somehow I missed that these have been released from the factory. Very interesting - they have the AC44Ci radiators on the AC4400CW carbody, but a new air-to-water intercooler assembly right behind the exhaust. The ES44 series has air-to-air intercoolers while the AC4400/C44/ET44 all have air-to-water. This new assembly is different from any other unit to date.

@Pedrop I think these might be very similar to what MRS was testing the loading gauge for. Is MRS getting any rebuilds?

What a have heard here is that MRS will receive a hibrid diesel- battery unit from Wabtech. I do not know if it will be produced in US or Brazil. The unit will be higher and longer than an ES44i. That's why they are testing the loading gauge.
Is there any hibrid locomotive like that been tested in US right now?

Chinese cars are not good. There are some chinese hoppers in Brazil bought by for former fca, now VLI. They have bad brake system. It was necessary to modify them. Greenbrier/Maxion, Usiminas and Randon are good freight car makers in Brazil. BHP could test our cars in Australia since we have good experience with ore business. Our GDT model used in broad gauge is for 130 gross tons, and the GDU are for 150 gross tons.

Pedro ,I was wondering about the Chinese hoppers. The ones  that the Iron Ore railroads received from China  wouldn't be all that old. Big push down here to get more domestic manufacturing going.

Is this the car dumper handle? If so, they lose a good amount of ore in each car.

Did not know they were ex BNSF -9s rebuilt for them with extra cooling.
Here is a great site for western Australia ore railroads. At this time they don't have any info on these units.
