Hi, here are some pictures of the new locomotives for rumo railroad.

1 - 3) ES44i 2552 at MRS rr  Barbará yard (FBB), in Barra Mansa, RJ. The unit is on way from Wabtech to rumo in Araraquara, SP. Pictures from Bruno Felipe on 01/07/2023.

4 - 5) EMD is lauching the first GT38H "hybrid" diesel - battery locomotive produced at its Sete Lagoas plant to Rumo narrow gauge system. The unit will be delivered too rumo soon and I imagine  it will be sent by truck.
In the second picture, #1 shows the battery system to store energy from dynamic brake system. #2 shows that the energy will be sent to the trucks.

I assume horsepower on the first engine  4600.  What about the battery engine?

Nice looking new locomotives for Rumo. I like the Rumo. The battery units will be interesting by EMD.

Yes, but nowadays safety screens is necessary everywhere. We never know what we will find ahead. This unit found a three branch in a curve near here.

A friend that works as engineer for rumo said me these ES44i are rated to 4.500 hp and have 4,400 hp of tractive efforts. The new rumo GT38 can be 3,800 to 4,000 hp. Here it is an article about it in Railway Age magazine.
