Fepasa Chile SD40-2 then and now
Author: masterphots

Fepasa Chile bought six former BNSF/BN SD40-2s.  Regauged to 5'6" and extensively rebuilt here in Santiago,  they entered service in 2012-13.  The first three were painted by local artists selected in a competition for an 'Art in Motion' program sponsored by the railroad.  Two have since been repainted  in Fepasa's current red/blue colors.  No. 3303 (former BN/BNSF 6922) was one of the three.  Here are photos of it  taken in April 2012 and a couple of days ago.  Interetesting to note it has a smaller fuel tank today.  Due to weight,  these units are restricted to a couple of lines out of Santiago so fuel range is not a problem.
