New Zealand.....lunch stop on Silver Fern
Author: masterphots

The Aukland to Wellington, New Zealand  Silver Fern made a lunch stop at Taihape.  First time I ever saw a cold sphegetti sandwich on offer.   March 22, 1978    Great trip and experience.

Back in 1970, the hotel I was at in Sydney offered spaghetti (warm) for breakfast. I had it every day.

Big changes since you took that shot. Station and infastructure all gone. just a small shelter on platform. Not a passenger stop anymore. All "Silver Ferns" retired, but all saved in preservation. Great machines ran them for 25 years.
