Hi all,

Some images from this year.

1. 5114S loaded grain train from Gladstone waits to depart Crystal Brook hauled by CLF6 and CM3309 on 1/7/2023.

2. 1281S empty Tailem Bend grain train with CLF6, CLP8, ALF19, ALF21 and GWA002 passes through Nairne on 1/12/2023.

3. 1901S empty ore train with GWA009 and GWA008 has just arrived at Rankin Dam on 1/15/2023.

Next lot.

1. 2184S loaded grain train waits to depart Wolseley with GWB101, CLF6, ALF23, ALF20 and CM3308 on 1/21/2023.

2. Four Clyde-EMD built JT26C variants, ALF21, ALF19, G538 and 8121 in Tailem Bend yard on 1/23/2023.

3. Stored Aurizon owned units, GM40, GM38 and GM45 in Dry Creek South yard on 1/24/2023.

Next lot.

1. Aurizon owned shunt locomotives, FJ105 and FJ104 recently returned from Alice Springs along with 705 and GM42 sit at the Dry Creek MPC on 1/24/2023.

2. 3DA2 with GWA002 and ALF22 wait to depart Berrimah Terminal (Darwin, Northern Territory) while shunt locomotive 2212 awaits its next job, 1/31/2023.

3. The Great Southern passenger train, 6AK8 with NR30 and NR31 passes through Nairne on its way from Adelaide to Inverleigh in Victoria on 2/3/2023.

Next lot.

1. Privately owned 42103 on hire to SSR leads GM10 on AK82 track inspection train as they approach Balhannah on 2/17/2023.

2. The same train passes through Madurta station site, near Aldgate.

3. Loaded grain train, 2182S from Tailem Bend crosses the flooded River Murray at Murray Bridge with ALF22, FQ03, FQ02 and GWA003 on 2/20/2023.

1. 6DA2 with FQ01 and GWA008 waits at Cadney Park on 3/4/2023.

2. Looking south from Cadney Park.

3. GWA010 and CM3308 assist in loading 4152S grain train at Bowmans on 3/15/2023.

1. Freshly overhauled and repainted Aurizon crew van, ADFY1 at the Dry Creek MPC on 3/15/2023.

2. 4AD1 with GWA008 and FQ04 waits at Tarcoola as 3DA6 with FQ01, GWA009 and ALF18 comes off the Darwin track on 3/23/2023.

3. 1283S empty grain train has just arrived at Wolseley hauled by ALF18, CLP14, G535, CM3308 and GWB102 on 3/30/2023.

2. Wolseley yard looking north on 3/30/2023.

3. Rail First crew van, CDAY1 on a trial run at Tailem Bend after a rebuild on 4/1/2023.

1. 1281S empty Tailem Bend grain train has just passed through Mt. Barker Jct hauled by brand new Progress Rail built GT46C-ACe GenII units GWB106, GWB104, GWB105 on 4/5/2023.

2. Aurizon's first new Melbourne to Perth service, 7MP1 waits at Bolivar hauled by ACD6052 and ACD6051 on 4/9/2023.

3. The same train at Spencer Jct while Pacific National unit NR66 awaits its next turn of duty, 4/9/2023.

I believe they were introduced in 1972 or around the early 1970s as the CL class 3000 hp units and were painted silver and maroon for commonwealth railways later becoming Australian national railways then in about 1982 AN green and yellow they would have been close to an sd40 dash 2 tomstp Wrote:

Nice series from a distant land. I have a brother that lived in Australia from 1971 to 1985. Unfortunately he isn't a railfan and photographed many things but none trains.
