International Railroad Discussion > Barely there but still operating - 2ft 4in gauge in IndonesiaDate: 06/29/23 07:56 Barely there but still operating - 2ft 4in gauge in Indonesia Author: LTCerny For fans of near-derelict branch lines that have been overgrown and neglected and trespassed upon for other uses - but are still operating, a network of 700mm gauge sugar-cane railroads in Indonesia should be of interest. A fan has posted dozens of videos showing the almost-constant problems of trying to operate over these lines. Just search for "Rohman Channel" on Youtube.

That cane railway system is something else! Cane season is only three to four months long, so during the eight months of dormancy, Mother Nature takes over the right-of-way big time!
