International Railroad Discussion > A G16U modernized by EMD of Brazil

Hi, about two years ago Vale mining sent G16U 629 to EMD of Brazil to be modernized. I do not know the reason Vale did it. It can be a test to update the fleet of G12 and G16 that are used nowadays in MoW trains.
Yesterday, EMD released the G16 with a new cab and new eletronic devices inside. The unit was coupled to limestone train C764 and is on way to Aroaba port right now.
