Progress Rail 001 (Brazil)
Author: pedrop

Progress Rail of Brazil released pictures of its yard switcher that works in the EMD plant in Sete Lagoas MG, about 50 Km from my home. I also received the news they started to assembly two SB70BBJ "Joule" for a foreign costumer, that I think it is the Australian group FMG.

I think unit 001 is former VLI 8145, that was in bad condition at the plant sometime ago.

It looks like you could host a small fiesta on that front platform.

Yes, a nice place to put a table and some chairs and drink something with friends.

What is the reason for the extended draftgear and couplers?

These locos have 27 meters long, so, the couplers must have a better movement to the sides to allow them to do the tight curves of narrow gauge tracks.
