International Railroad Discussion > Another question on rail builder (Brazil)Date: 09/03/23 17:44 Another question on rail builder (Brazil) Author: pedrop Here it is another old pole built from old rail I found in 2008 while railfaning the old EFCB rwy tracks at Km 1,007. Here in town is Km 627.
This is a very old piece and the only one I found from this builder. Any hints about the builder? The insncription says: "B.V.C BOSCHUM 1886.11" Pedro Pedro Rezende Vespasiano MG, Edited 1 time(s). Just maybe, the rail came from steel mills here.

Their website doesn't say anything about making rails, or if there used to be another division with the BVC lettering, but its possible they used to make rails way back then...
Another possibility would be a different supplier in Bochum, Germany, an old steel manufacturing center in Germany where BVV is currently located... JG Edited 3 time(s). So, this could be the first German rail I found here in Brazil.
