One Month Ago: Another Small Taste of Melbourne Trams
Author: NMlurker

On Sunday I would make my fifth and final trip on the broad gauge regional routes, this time out to Bairnsdale (well east of Melbourne) and back. On a Sunday the service is slightly reduced so it was a three-car Vlocity DMU out to Bairnsdale, a bus (coach) from Bairnsdale to Sale (a little under an hour), and then a three-car Vlocity DMU back to Southern Cross. Once back in Melbourne I did take some time to photograph some tram action at the intersection of William Street and La Trobe Street.

1. An older two-car set advertising Victoria University. SSE on William Street.

2. A modern three-car set NNW on William Street.

3. A modern three-car set WSW on La Trobe Street.

4. The intersection has cleared out nicely allowing this unobstructed shot of another modern three-car set WSW on La Trobe St.

5. Another modern three-car set NNW on William St.

6. And lastly, an older two-car set NNW on William St.

Nice stuff. The body of the first one looks like Mater down under.
