A few from a trip Helsinki to Saint Petersburg in 2017.
Author: CimaScrambler

Four photos from a trip from Helsinki, Finland to St. Petersburg, Russia, in July 2017. 1). Tram outside the train station in Helsinki. We rode these to get from our hotel to the downtown area for sightseeing and restaurants.2). The Allegro train we rode on the trip, preparing to leave Helsinki.

3 and 4). A couple of Russian locomotives seen after we crossed the border into Russia - taken through the passenger car window, so not particularly sharp.
I know absolutely nothing about the type and power of the engines.  I was just glad to see something along the way besides all the concertina wire at the border.
Edit:  added a third image of a Russian engine taken through the window.

Kit, thanks. I don't think you can do that trip now.  Gerry

Can't, as in it's dangerous, or can't, as in the Allegro service has been discontinued?

I taught in Helsinki in 2012, and wished I had time for a trip to St. P. But I said, oh, I'll do it in the future. Now I wouldn't dare.

Please pardon my adding on to someone else's thread. But these fit nicely. Shot in Helsinki, June, 2012.

The first is an M62, built by Lugansk. The design dates back to 1964, originally buklt for Hungary. Equipped with a Kolomna two stroke V12.

The second looks like a 3kV DC VL11 (Vladimir Lenin type 11).

And the third looks like one of the universal switcher types, possibly a TEM18.

I took this at Vainkkala on the Finnish / Russia border. The loco is a 2M62, a twin unit version of your M62.
